South Korea's KOSPI continued to be a bright spot when it broke through 2.25% to 8,228 points, extending the streak of peaks thanks to the craze for artificial intelligence semiconductor stocks, with SK Hynix joining the trillion-dollar club with Samsung and Micron. Meanwhile, Japan's Nikkei 225 was almost flat, while China's Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng both fell in the face of cautious sentiment and profit-taking pressure.
