This afternoon, Asian stock markets were sharply divergent in the face of mixed signals around the US-Iran conflict. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's KOSPI both retreated quite sharply from their historic peaks, as selling pressure focused on technology and semiconductor stocks that lead these two markets, amid investor concerns that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz could threaten global semiconductor supply chains.

On May 29, the State Bank of Vietnam issued Official Letter No. 4551 on credit growth in 2026, whereby from the beginning of the year to the end of December 31, 2026, credit institutions are not required to calculate the additional outstanding debt when lending to social housing, industrial parks, and export processing zones into the outstanding real estate credit when subject to limit control.
