This afternoon, the sell-off in technology stocks from Wall Street spread across Asia, leaving the whole region in the red. South Korea's KOSPI plunged the most when two giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were fiercely discharged, resonating with pressure from the country's authorities calling on technology corporations to share more profits from the semiconductor craze. Japan's Nikkei 225 fell deeply among chipmakers, while China's Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng both retreated by a lighter margin.
