U.S. stocks fell, while yields soared as investors became uncertain about the outlook for monetary policy after the first meeting of new Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh. Top tech stocks led the decline, with Microsoft, Meta Platforms (Facebook), Alphabet and Amazon all closing in the red. The rise in the price of chip stocks such as Intel and Micron Technology has helped to somewhat limit the overall decline of the market.
