Asian stocks diverged sharply in the context of a global sell-off in semiconductor stocks. The Nikkei fell deeply when the technology group was sold sharply following the general trend, and the KOSPI plunged sharply even though Samsung Electronics has just announced a soaring Q2 profit, showing that investors have overreacted to previous expectations.
