U.S. stocks recorded a strong session, with the Dow Jones setting a new record, thanks to a strong rally in tech stocks and the U.S. President's suspension of plans to attack Iran. Meta Platforms (Facebook) rose sharply by 6% on the day. Amazon also increased by more than 4%, reaching a record market capitalization of $3 trillion. Meanwhile, Nvidia rose nearly 3 percent, while Alphabet (Google) and Microsoft both added nearly 5 percent.

Crude oil prices slowed in the morning session on Tuesday (4/8) after falling sharply the previous day amid US President Donald Trump's decision to suspend a new attack on Iran in the hope of quickly reaching an agreement that could help increase oil supplies from the Gulf region.
