US stocks recorded another week of growth as investors thought that the weak jobs report in July meant that the Fed would not raise interest rates anytime soon. The July nonfarm payrolls report showed the number of jobs fell by 23,000, in contrast to the forecast of an increase of 83,000 by economists surveyed by Dow Jones. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1% as the labor force participation rate fell to its lowest level in more than five years.

Crude oil prices rose in the morning session on Monday (August 10) as uncertainties surrounding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz continued. Iran says an agreement with Oman to define new shipping lanes is in its final stages, but the U.S. still has to meet some additional conditions.

In the session of 07/08, VNIndex increased slightly by 0.19% when cash flows poured heavily into the group of state-owned enterprises after the classification criteria document to restructure state capital in enterprises. Cash flow has spread to many other industry groups. However, the profit-taking pressure in the Vingroup group caused the general index to be weighed down.
