US stocks soared on August 28 thanks to Nvidia's financial report. The chipmaker is forecast to achieve 70% revenue growth in fiscal 2028, much higher than the 44% estimate expected by analysts surveyed by LSENG. In addition to Nvidia and semiconductor stocks, Salesforce rose more than 22% after announcing second-quarter revenue that exceeded Wall Street's forecasts.

Gold prices fell again in the morning session on Friday (August 28) after rising the previous day thanks to a weaker dollar, while the market awaited Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole conference on Friday to look for more signals on the inflation outlook and monetary policy roadmap.
