1. How do I register for margin trading?

On the Alphatrading app, if you don’t yet have a securities trading account with Pinetree, you can register for a margin account when creating a new securities trading account. If you already have a trading account, go to Personal Information, select Margin Account, click Register, then read the electronic Margin Account Agreement, confirm, and enter the OTP to complete registration.

2. I cannot open a derivatives account.

3. I registered to open an account but did not receive an OTP code. Please help.

Please check that the phone number you entered matches the number you registered with Pinetree.

If the number is correct but you still don’t receive the OTP, try clicking Resend OTP on the screen.

4. I was filling out my e-KYC account information on the website but accidentally closed the page. How can I complete my account opening?

Your information is still saved from the step you last exited. To continue, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Revisit the account opening link, enter your phone number, email, and verify with the OTP.

Step 2: After successful verification, the system will automatically redirect you to the screen where you last left off.

You can continue from this point to complete the account opening process.

5. How can I close my security account?

To close your account at Pinetree, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: The customer contacts Pinetree’s CS Department to have your account information checked before closure.

Account closure conditions are that the account finishes all related obligations, and the balance of money and shares is zero.

Step 2: The customer fills in the Account Closure Request Form completely and accurately (2 copies). Find the form here.

Step 3: The customer submits the Account Closure Request Form and other relevant documents to Pinetree through one of the two following ways:

  • Visiting Pinetree and submitting the documents directly at the counter.
  • Send the documents by mail/post.

Step 4: The CS Department receives the documents, calls the Customer to re-confirm the information, and does the closure following the customer’s request.
